Playlist erotica

Jamaica Gleaner - - SEX & RELATIONSHIPS - Krysta Anderson Gleaner Writerderson@glean

TURN OFF the lights, a candle flame flickers brightly and the mood is set just right. You know what time it is. Now, we have a playlist for just about every occasion – for driving in the car, working out at the gym, even at work. So why not have one for the bedroom, and start our very own private party for two?

We asked a few of our readers what are some of the songs we can find on their erotic playlist. Their choices varied from old school to contemporary jams and crossing genres. So welcome to Playlist Erotica, where erotic music meets erotic play. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Floetry’s Say Yes, John Legend’s Tonight and Made to Love, as well as Musiq Soulchild’s So Beautiful and When I’m With You. They literally set the mood. If you listen to the lyrics, they say it all and the melodies are just so soft and soothing. Dynamite! R.H., female, 30

My playlist includes R Kelly’s Bump and Grind, Tyrese’s Signs of Lovemaking, any of Joe’s songs: I Wanna Know, More and More. They’re soft and slow with deliberate beats, just carnal and raw. I’ll switch it up Personally by Kalado, to ignite a different rhythmic vibe. Tonight and All of Me by John Legend, Miguel’s All I Want is You,J Holiday’s Bed and The Weeknd’s Earned It. They are all sexy songs and they put my mind and body in a very sexual playful place between a stripper and a pornstar. K.W., female, 33

I actually have a special mix called ‘Booty Call’, which is a 25-minutelong mix I play sometimes during sex. I’m going to share one of the playlists with you. The list is divided into three sections: warm-up, execution, and home run. Warm-up: Bruno Mars – It will Rain, Jamie Foxx – Fall For Your Type and Shai – If I Ever Fall In Love. Execution: Dreezy – Body ft. Jeremiah, and Weeknd – Acquainted. While for the home run: Dexta Daps – Morning Love, Mavado – Tie Yuh, Alkaline – How It Feel and Alkaline – On Fleek. These songs evoke a strong sensual feeling. The lyrics, the melody, and the rhythm of these songs set the mood and play on one’s emotion. They sometimes bring across the message for you – in the case of asking for ‘it’. Let the music do the talking. These songs also rid tension by relaxing your partner’s body. L.H., male, 32

The playlist I use for my bedroom is dependent on the mood. I’m a lovemaking type of girl so oftentimes I’m pulling for our old-school-love playlist with songs like Cruisin’ by Smokey Robinson and Penny Lover by Lionel Richie. For nights, when we’re coming from our night out at the club now, we pull for our dancehall playlist. That song always seems to put me in just the right mood to get down and dirty under the sheets. K.D., female, 24

Ciara’s Body Party is definitely on my playlist for my girlfriend, while me, it’s Keith Sweat’s Nobody. I put Nobody on the playlist because I love it. She doesn’t like it, but if I’m in a specific mood, putting her in the mood becomes easier and that song helps me to do just that so we compromise. For her, Body Party is all about the rhythmic dynamics of the song that make the bed feel like a dance floor which as a dancer (she is one) can work wonders.

Well I love a few of Brian McKnight songs. Boyz II Men’s I’ll Make Love To You, Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing and Let’s Get It On, Missing You Like Crazy by Natalie Cole, Elton John’s Can You Feel the Love Tonight and To Love You More by Celine Dion. That’s just a few. I love to play ’80s into ’90s souls when going in, if I really like the person and then you take it to another level in terms of lovemaking when the power of the music hits you. R.A., male 29

Tyrese’s Zodiac Signs, Trey Songz’s Slow Motion and Beyoncé’s Dance for You. I love those songs because they really put me in the right mood, especially if I’m around my significant other, so when I put the emotions from the songs, plus the emotions I already have into the lovemaking, it’s even deeper. S.C., female 27

Sex With You and Let’s Get Naked by Marcus Houston and I’ll Make Love to You by Boyz II Men. I don’t know why, I just like them and my girlfriend likes them, too.

Get on Your Knees by Nicki Minaj is on my playlist because it is just really naughty. Then there is Foreign by Trey Songz, because I love it when he makes me speak in another language. I also like Mirror by Ne-Yo; it is sultry and sexy. Nah (Remix) by Ty Dolla Sign featuring the Weeknd is so dirty, but once the weekend part comes in ... ! There is something about his voice. Then Earned It by The Weeknd because we both earned it. And The Weeknd’s voice is just so smooth that it sends chills down my spine for that slow lovemaking night. J.L., female, 29
