America will weep at its folly

Jamaica Gleaner - - OPINION & COMMENTARY -

THE EDITOR, Sir: GREAT PIECE by Carolyn Cooper on the US elections in The Sunday Gleaner of November 13, 2016. I agree entirely with her critique and fear that America will yet regret putting Trump in the White House. Of course, Hillary Clinton was clearly the better choice, but often, human nature does not want what’s better. It just wants to have what it wants!

I am still in shock that Hillary lost the race. I had expected much better from America. Perhaps I am a fool; perhaps I ought to know better. After all, a nation that treats blacks like animals and sees women as lesser creatures than men can’t be counted on to close the doors on hatred, sexism, racism, and homophobia.

But America will weep at its folly, and the world will weep because of America’s madness. ANDRE HILL andrehill79@yahoo.com
