Jamaica Gleaner - - YL:ENTERTAINMENT -

When tackled about the decision behind her recent collaboration with the incarcerated Vybz Kartel, Shenseea joked, “Mi know seh da question deh soon come, enuh!”

Laughing, she said, “Honestly, I don’t think I’m in the position to speak of that.”

Noting some of the negative responses to the song, she pointed out, “The main thing is what Kartel thinks and I’m not having a bad reaction from that. From what I hear, he doesn’t have a problem with it. If you know you are putting yourself out there, and you are on the right key and can deliver everything good, then I don’t see why some people even have a problem, but that’s just society overall.”

She closed, “I’m going to bring more to the market. I’m not going to be stuck in one mentality. I’ve always wanted to be an international artiste and that hasn’t changed. This (female dancehall artiste) is going to make a change.”
