Ity and Fancy Cat into season 9

Jamaica Gleaner - - TWIST -

Homegrown comedy is back in focus and, on Sunday nights, comedy fans are warming up for another season of the Ity and Fancy Cat Show.

Now in its ninth year, the locally produced sketch comedy series returned with the season premiere on Sunday November 13, the team of performers poking fun at hot topical issues and running humorous spoofs on unsuspecting members of the public.

This season brings some changes, including a montage and opening sequences and the removal of the live link segment that used to be recorded before a live studio audience. This live segment has been replaced with dramatic in-studio links and introductions. The public participation element of the show has also been heightened, with more hidden camera gags and on-thestreet interactions with fans.

A new segment called ‘Charity and Cheers’ has been added as well. This is a special initiative that will feature entertaining performances by primary schools students from all across the island and the sharing of inspiring acts of charity as the duo and their sponsors give back generously to the country and communities.
