No motive yet for Portmore murders

Jamaica Gleaner - - SOCIAL -

UP TO yesterday, the police had yet to determine a motive for the murders of two persons in Portmore, St Catherine, during a barefaced shooting incident last Saturday.

The lives of 46-year-old Calvin Archibald of Hellshire Drive and Christine Smith of a Telephone Close address, also in Portmore, were snuffed out by the same gunmen in two incidents.

Reports from the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are that Archibald was standing on the roadway near his residence with three other men when two gunmen opened fire hitting them.

The gunmen reportedly left the spot where their victims lay injured and headed nearby to Telephone Close, where they forced entry to Smith’s home, shooting her multiple times.

They were all taken to hospital, where Archibald and Smith were pronounced dead.
