“There was a growing need for a cool place to dine at in Kingston 8 and its environs. The sharing of this dream over wine and delectable treats saw the unfolding of a concept which emerged as Cellar 8 — the wine, bistro and lounge located in Upper Manor Park Plaza,” the Cellar 8 team explained in an email response.
They added, “The Cellar 8 Team has been striving to meet demands, and working hard to ensure that guests enjoy a relaxing and rewarding experience, whenever they dine with us at the Cellar in Kingston 8. We are evolving and taking shape, learning every day and appreciative of all the feedback which helps us make adjustments and continues to move in the right direction. This dynamic team is excited and our guests really do inspire us.”
So far, they already have quite a few favourites. Their crowd-pleasers include their signature oxtail tacos and five-spiced pork belly slider appetisers, along with their herb roasted salmon and Cajun-rubbed fillet mignon. Also the popular C8 pizzas and every one of their vegan dishes, including, the black bean and sweet corn sliders and their veggie pizzas (without cheese). Salivating yet?
As far as cocktails go, their flavoured mojitos will ignite your taste buds with a burst of freshness. Several of their Cellar 8 cocktails feature local ingredients such as lemon grass and Scotch bonnet pepper – if you dare to add spice to your life, and the seasonal sorrel, just in time for Christmas. “Pop into Cellar 8 and be sure to ask to try the new, seasonal addition, the Cellar Star, and tell us what you think,” they encouraged.
By far, the best feature of the bistro is the wine wall, boasting an extensive but selective collection of more than 100 vintage and contemporary wines. “We really want to give our guests a unique and memorable dining experience enhanced by great wine at various price points,” they stressed
An added bonus, is that you can purchase a bottle or two while dining in or pick it up on your way home or to a function. “Wine and wine accessories make the perfect gift for many occasions and Cellar 8 is stocked with items for your Christmas shopping list,” they affirmed.
Opening hours are Tuesdays to Thursdays 4 p.m.-11 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 4 p.m.-12 a.m.; and Sundays, 4 p.m.-11 p.m. So when life gets a little complicated, step into a whole new experience: relax, reconnect and celebrate at Cellar 8.
