Bri­tish na­tional sen­tenced for ganja

ABri­tish na­tional will have to spend the next nine months be­hind bars on the is­land as on Tues­day, he was sen­tenced in the Cor­po­rate Area Res­i­dent Mag­is­trate’s Court on sev­eral counts of ganja charges.

Forty- six- year- old Robert Tay­lor was fined $ 2,600 or six months in prison for pos­ses­sion of, $ 5,200 or six months for deal­ing in, and $ 13,000 or six months for tak­ing steps to ex­port one pound and 10 ounces ( 500 grams) of ganja.

In ad­di­tion, Se­nior Res­i­dent Mag­is­trate Judith Pusey sen­tenced Tay­lor to six months in prison that should run con­cur­rently.

Al­le­ga­tions are that the ac­cused had in­gested 112 pel­lets of ganja.

The pel­lets were re­port­edly ex­pelled at the Kingston Pub­lic Hos­pi­tal.
