Ganja, cultivation equipment seized in Clarendon
The May Pen police seized more than 200 pounds of ganja in Green Park, Sandy Bay in Clarendon yesterday. No one was arrested in connection with the find.
Reports are that about 3 p. m., lawmen were conducting an operation in the area when they came upon a field with approximately one acre of fully- grown ganja plants. Further searches in the area revealed a quantity of ganja seedlings, 233 pounds of cured ganja and cultivation equipment.
The ganja and the equipment were seized, while the field of ganja and the seedlings were destroyed by fire.
The cured ganja has an estimated street value of $ 1.2 million. The May Pen police are investigating.
