Ganja, cul­ti­va­tion equip­ment seized in Clarendon

The May Pen po­lice seized more than 200 pounds of ganja in Green Park, Sandy Bay in Clarendon yes­ter­day. No one was ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the find.

Re­ports are that about 3 p. m., law­men were con­duct­ing an op­er­a­tion in the area when they came upon a field with ap­prox­i­mately one acre of fully- grown ganja plants. Fur­ther searches in the area re­vealed a quan­tity of ganja seedlings, 233 pounds of cured ganja and cul­ti­va­tion equip­ment.

The ganja and the equip­ment were seized, while the field of ganja and the seedlings were de­stroyed by fire.

The cured ganja has an es­ti­mated street value of $ 1.2 mil­lion. The May Pen po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
