Three held for doctor’s killing
Three suspects were arrested yesterday in connection with last week’s killing of medical doctor Martin Garwood, who was found dead at his home.
Reports are that following investigations, police intercepted a vehicle with the three men aboard and subsequently arrested them. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
Garwood’s body was found at his home on Kings Avenue in Barbican, St Andrew, on October 26. Garwood, 40, did not turn up for work on the morning of October 27. This prompted coworkers to go to his home in search of him, where they saw blood at the premises and alerted the police.
Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, who is charge of the communication arm of t he Jamaica Constabulary Force, told THE STAR that the police believe that they have made a big breakthrough in the case. “The investigators are going through the nec- essary process, and by tomorrow (today) they should be able to make more information available to the public,” she told THE STAR.
Garwood was the team doctor for the Jamaican national youth football team.
