Knut wants curriculum rollout in 2019

Business Daily (Kenya) - - ECONOMY & POLITICS - Ouma Wanzala owantion

Teachers now want the rollout of the new curriculum set for January next year pushed to 2019.

Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) secretarygeneral Wilson Sossion said teachers are not well prepared for the exercise and that one month for training of teachers is not sufficient.

Mr Sossion said next year should be used for proper piloting of the curriculum and preparation of teachers as well as testing of the learning materials. “We have said very clearly that the curriculum review process must follow conventional and systematic steps and every steps must be subjected to public participation,” he said.
