KEBS AP­POINTED TO HOST ISO SEC­RE­TARIAT

Kenya Bureau of Stan­dards (KEBS) said the ISO Tech­ni­cal Man­age­ment Board (ISO/TMB) had ap­proved its host­ing of ISO/ TC 285 the Sec­re­tariat. The ap­point­ment came af­ter KEBS’ par­tic­i­pa­tion in a three-year twin­ning and ca­pac­ity build­ing pro­gramme with the USA coun­ter­part, the Amer­i­can Na­tional Stan­dards In­sti­tute (ANSI). The ap­proval makes Kenya only the se­cond coun­try in Africa to host an ISO/TC sec­re­tariat af­ter South Africa.

VIVO IN FUEL EF­FI­CIENCY CAM­PAIGN

Vivo En­ergy Kenya, the irm that mar­kets and dis­trib­utes Shell branded fu­els and lubricants, said it had em­barked on a sen­si­ti­sa­tion cam­paign to ed­u­cate mo­torists on fuel e iciency, engine main­te­nance and per­for­mance. The cam­paign dubbed “DYNAFLEX Tour”, is cou­pled with on­go­ing drive to widen Vivo En­ergy’s foot­print and mar­ket share in the coastal re­gion. Vivo has re­cently in­tro­duced in the Kenyan mar­ket new Shell fu­els Shell V Power, Shell Fuel­save Diesel and Shell Fuel­save Un­leaded.

LEAPFROG IN­VESTS IN PYRA­MID GROUP

Leapfrog In­vest­ments, an in­vestor in com­pa­nies that de­liver health­care and inan­cial ser­vices for emerg­ing con­sumers, said it had in­vested in Pyra­mid Group — a dis­trib­u­tor of spe­cial­ist med­i­cal equip­ment and prod­ucts. Founded in 2001 Pyra­mid has grown to be­come the largest spe­cialty dis­trib­u­tor of car­diac and or­thopaedic equip­ment in East Africa.
