KEBS APPOINTED TO HOST ISO SECRETARIAT
Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) said the ISO Technical Management Board (ISO/TMB) had approved its hosting of ISO/ TC 285 the Secretariat. The appointment came after KEBS’ participation in a three-year twinning and capacity building programme with the USA counterpart, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The approval makes Kenya only the second country in Africa to host an ISO/TC secretariat after South Africa.
VIVO IN FUEL EFFICIENCY CAMPAIGN
Vivo Energy Kenya, the irm that markets and distributes Shell branded fuels and lubricants, said it had embarked on a sensitisation campaign to educate motorists on fuel e iciency, engine maintenance and performance. The campaign dubbed “DYNAFLEX Tour”, is coupled with ongoing drive to widen Vivo Energy’s footprint and market share in the coastal region. Vivo has recently introduced in the Kenyan market new Shell fuels Shell V Power, Shell Fuelsave Diesel and Shell Fuelsave Unleaded.
LEAPFROG INVESTS IN PYRAMID GROUP
Leapfrog Investments, an investor in companies that deliver healthcare and inancial services for emerging consumers, said it had invested in Pyramid Group — a distributor of specialist medical equipment and products. Founded in 2001 Pyramid has grown to become the largest specialty distributor of cardiac and orthopaedic equipment in East Africa.
