Shop­ping plat­form links Mombasa to global stores

Mombasa res­i­dents can now buy goods di­rectly from global stores af­ter on­line shop­ping plat­form, Mall­forafrica ex­panded its ac­tiv­i­ties to coastal city.

The firm’s Coun­try Man­ager Naomi Kon­diti-kivu­vani (left) said the ex­pan­sion fol­lows re­quests by lo­cal com­pa­nies and in­di­vid­u­als look­ing for a lo­cal col­lec­tion point for items bought di­rectly from stores in UK and US stores.

“The Mall­forafrica plat­form will en­sure goods bought by Mombasa shop­pers from lead­ing in­ter­na­tional stores in the US and UK such as Ama­zon, ebay, Macy’s, Zara and Sport­sDirect are de­liv­ered to their doorstep,” she said.

Ms Kon­diti-kivu­vani said Mall­forafrica had also ex­panded in 17 African coun­tries en­abling in­tra-african trade to thrive where shop­pers will ac­cess the plat­form via down­load­ing of the App from Google­play store, IOS and An­droid or on Chrome on desk­top com­put­ers.

“Ini­tially, Mombasa res­i­dents had to ei­ther travel or send some­one to col­lect their items from our Nairobi of­fice. Through our unique plat­form, they are now able to or­der and pur­chase items via their mo­bile phones that will be de­liv­ered to them,” she said.

Ms Kon­diti-kivu­vani said users will pay for their pur­chases via lo­cal pay­ment so­lu­tions among them mo­bile phone pay­ment plat­form, M-pesa and plas­tic pay­ment cards.

She said the Mombasa of­fice will also en­able cus­tomers to en­joy af­ter-sales ser­vices from re­turns, re­funds and ex­change ser­vices atop Mall­forafrica’s roundthe-clock or­der track­ing.

The coun­try man­ager said small and medium busi­ness (SMES) in the Coastal re­gion will en­joy pref­er­en­tial terms on the plat­form when plac­ing or­ders with re­tail­ers us­ing their site.
