Uhuru Park sealed off for Mashujaa Day plans
Nairobi County Government has sealed off Uhuru Park to the public until October 20 to allow military preparations for Mashujaa Day celebrations. This comes at a time when Nasa anti-iebc demonstrators mostly converge at the park to start their procession to Anniversary Towers. Speaking to the Nation, acting county secretary Leboo ole Montintat said the decision was reached after it emerged that this year’s celebrations will take place at Uhuru Park. Mashujaa Day is celebrated in honour of pre- and postindependence Kenyan heroes.
