Relief as government repairs damaged bridge
The Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) has rebuilt Kainuk bridge, which was washed away last Sunday by floods after Turkwel River burst its banks. Transport services along the Kitale-lokichar-lodwarnadapal highway resumed Thursday evening. Kenha’s assistant director of corporate affairs Charles Njogu said that “substantial rock fill and gravel backfill has been undertaken”. The road connects to South Sudan.
