WHAT OTHERS SAID

Daily Nation (Kenya) - - TRIBUTE TO KENYA’S HERO -

Fr Fredrick Njoroge in-charge of Communications, Eldoret Catholic Diocese

All I can say is that Bishop Cornelius Korir was so dear to all of us. One unique thing about him is that he went out of his way and employed people from all walks of life. Esther Korir- From Kaptagat Catholic Parish

I knew Bishop Cornelius Korir in 1988 when he was ordained. He came to the Eldoret Diocese when he was still a very young man. Until his death, the bishop served and treated everyone equally.

Eunice Kiprono- From Kimumu Catholic Parish

I have known Bishop Cornelius

Korir as a peacemaker. He traversed the country preaching peace and urging feuding communities to dialogue. He helped us build our faith and fear of God. Martha Ngeleche - Chairperson Catholic Women Association, Eldoret Diocese

For the time God has enabled us to be with our bishop, I have known him as a peace loving person. He has really been at the forefront supporting our projects. Simon Kosgey - Programmes Coordinator, Catholic Church Justice and Peace Commission

I met the bishop in 2008 during the post-poll violence. I have been mobilising communities under his guidance to preach dialogue in case of conflicts. Lopeker Lupuun- Turkana elder

I had to travel all the way from Turkana to Eldoret to pay my last respects to my bishop whom I regard as my hero. He managed to unite the Turkana and Pokot and I don’t think there is someone who can fill the gap that he has left.
