Two people killed, eight injured in accidents
Two people died and eight others were injured in separate accidents in Nyeri town on Monday night. In one of the accidents, a tailor was crushed to death after a matatu rammed into a café in Ngangarithi. Nyeri County Administration Police Commander Njue Njagi said three people were seriously injured. In another accident, a boda boda rider was killed after being hit by a trailer at Banana Leaf. Police reports indicate that the rider was trying to overtake a vehicle.
Turkana county government has received Sh57 million to support development projects in the region that are geared towards ending hunger and poverty. The funds have been released by the Norway government in an agreement signed with the UN. The UN Resident Coordinator Siddharth Chatterie said the money will be used to support projects in various sectors including health, agriculture, tourism and other development endeavours.
