The bad news is, with each hour you spend sitting down in your sedentary lifestyle, the risk of premature death increases by five per cent. To counter your eight-hour sitting marathon at your desk, science says you need to exercise at least an hour daily. Previously the guidelines recommended 30 minutes of daily exercise, however, the World Health Organisation amended the findings based on new research from the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences and Cambridge University. Even better news is, you don’t have to do the entire hour at one go. Findings state that splitting it up over the day works just as well, so long as you get your sixty minutes in.
