discovering what tastes great and what doesn't. Everything I make is an experiment and I love the whole journey! I'm not fussy at all, I like to see where things lead me. As a child, I was always made to try everything! If I didn't like it, then I wouldn't have to eat it but I had to try it first before I made my judgement. At the time, I don't think this was a fond activity but now, I really appreciate it.

I taught myself how to cook because I have a family that loves either cooking or eating or both. Also being a mum in the food industry all my life, I was exposed to cooking a lot.

I have travelled to quite a few places around the world and lived abroad. I've been exposed to many different types of food with different appearances, touches, textures, tastes, temperatures, colours, etc. So when cooking, I feel like I'm not limited in any of my ideas because I've tasted so many different types of things that I don't have any problems trying new things or adding ingredients to dishes that might not be considered “normal” to some people.

What I love about food, in general, is that it's a way of bringing everyone together. Meals have always been a way to get us all together, be it Sunday family lunches, Christmas lunch or a date after a very long time, food is always involved. I love photographing food too! You can see this on my Instagram page @Healthyme_ Happyme where I record my attempt to keep a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle as well as on my website www.tatianakaranja.com where I have my online portfolio including a section of food and drink photography. For those who also enjoy landscapes and travel pages, please check out my other Instagram handle @tatianakaranja.
