The Of­fice of the Pros­e­cu­tor is ex­pected to col­lect evidence of crimes against hu­man­ity from a va­ri­ety of sources, in­de­pen­dently, im­par­tially and ob­jec­tively. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion can take as long as needed. If suf­fi­cient evidence is gath­ered to es­tab­lish that spe­cific in­di­vid­u­als bear crim­i­nal re­spon­si­bil­ity, the pros­e­cu­tor will then re­quest judges of Pre­trial cham­ber III to is­sue
