Tan­za­nia un­veils bud­get for 2018/19 fis­cal year

Tan­za­nia plans to in­crease spend­ing in its bud­get for the fis­cal year end­ing June 2019, from Tsh31.71 tril­lion ($14.21 bil­lion) to Tsh32.4 tril­lion ($14.4 bil­lion). Philip Mpango, Min­is­ter for Fi­nance and Plan­ning, un­veiled the pro­pos­als while pre­sent­ing to the Na­tional As­sem­bly the pro­posed na­tional de­vel­op­ment plan and bud­get prepa­ra­tions for the next fis­cal year. Mr Mpango said the to­tal pro­posed bud­get is for re­cur­rent ex­pen­di­ture and de­vel­op­ment projects. Rev­enues from in­ter­nal sources are ex­pected to be Tsh22 tril­lion ($9.8 bil­lion).
