It’s three months in prison with hard labour for for­mer vice pres­i­dent

ZAM­BIA: For­mer vice-pres­i­dent Nev­ers Mumba has been sen­tenced to three months im­pris­on­ment with hard labour for giv­ing false in­for­ma­tion to a pub­lic of­fi­cer.

Lusaka Res­i­dent Mag­is­trate David Simusamba charged Dr Mumba with ly­ing to the po­lice man­ning the main gate at the Zam­bia Na­tional Broad­cast­ing Cor­po­ra­tion in or­der to gain ac­cess.

The renowned tel­e­van­ge­list who served as Zam­bia’s vice-pres­i­dent be­tween 2003 and 2004 had stormed the sta­tion to protest about a story the sta­tion had aired.
