A ran­dom sur­vey by Twaweza re­vealed that 60 per cent of Tan­za­ni­ans feel they don’t have free­dom of speech to speak about the govern­ment. About 54 per cent also are not free to crit­i­cize the Pres­i­dent. Ac­cord­ing to the re­port, 87 per cent of the peo­ple sur­veyed think that they need to be free to crit­i­cise the govern­ment and the pres­i­dent for mak­ing bad de­ci­sions.
