Five people arrested in Nairobi for pretending to be county officials
Five people arrested on Wednesday, including three former county employees, were charged yesterday with impersonating City Hall officials.
Former Inspectorate officers Stanley Muritu, George Muiruri and Richard Kimani were arrested by county detectives and EACC officers.
County director of investigations Geoffrey Kathurima said the three were arrested on Haile Selassie Avenue, while commandeering a private car. “These former employees are giving us sleepless nights,” he said.
Kathurima said the other two – Joseph Muchiri and Gilbert Ngugi – were arrested while attempting to tow a public service vehicle at OTC bus station.
County secretary Robert Ayisi urged residents to be cautious and report any suspicious people posing as county officers.
