William ole Ntimama was born in 1928. He served as the Narok North MP for 25 years before he retired from politics on September 14, 2013. He served as a Cabinet minister in President Mwai Kibaki’s government. He was the defacto ‘King of the Maasai’. During his long political career, Ntimama distinguished himself as a great agitator and defender of Maasai rights. As a result, he gained unrivaled popularity among the people of his community and became one of the most influential Masaai leaders. He is reported to have died of natural causes in his house in Narok on September 1.
