Asubuhi go top of Super 8 again
The dramatic jostling for top spot of the SportPesa Super 8 Premier League saw Kayole Asubuhi go on top again, thanks to a resounding 3-1 victory over Baba Dogo United at Baba Dogo grounds.
Baba Dogo were first to hit the target as early as the 7th minute through Reagan Ochieng’ who gave the home team the early lead that stood firm the entire first half.
But Asubuhi, who were under pressure to win the match after defending champs TUK and Jericho All Stars won their respective matches, were lifted by second half strikes from Brian Ochieng ( 57’) and Justin Wambi ( 70’).
It was Tobias Olum, who rose to the occasion to slot in the match winner with just ten minutes remaining in the game, to hand Asubuhi the win which catapulted them to the top of the standings with 61 points, a point shy of second-placed TUK, who hit Ajax 7-1. Jericho are ranked third with 59 points.
Jeconiah Uyoga put up a maverick performance, netting six goals as inspire TUK demolished 10-man AJax 7-1 in a one-sided encounter.
