Cheboi calls for blood banks in all hospitals
Baringo Governor Benjamin Cheboi (pictured) has appealed to the national government to set up blood donation centres in every county referral hospital. Cheboi said this will improve operations and reduce referrals to facilities outside the counties. “In Baringo, we have been referring our patients to receive blood in Nakuru General and Moi Teaching and Referral hospitals. We can as well do this in Kabarnet and Eldama Ravine,” he said on Tuesday. The governor said residents’ lives are more important than other minor projects prioritised by the national goverment. “I appeal to the Health ministry to increase the capacity of blood banks across the country,” Cheboi said. He spoke while inspecting the county referral hospital in Kabarnet town. He said his government and the state are working to upgrade Eldama Ravine and Kabarnet hospitals into level four and five facilities.
