(+) PAST STRIKE NOTICE BY MEDICS
In August last year, Nairobi health workers threatened to down their tools, if the county failed to address their demands. They cited the collective bargaining agreement and the “mishandling” of Pumwani Maternity Hospital nurses as some of the key issues they wanted addressed. They said the Nairobi government had not guaranteed them timely payment of salaries as provided for in the Employment Act 2007. They said the county had failed to harmonise salaries and allowances for those who moved from the central and the now-defunct local governments. They also demanded promotions.
