South Mugirango MP to run for President in 2022, says he has what it takes
South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya on Friday said he will vie for President in 2022. Nyamweya said he has what it takes and that the seat is not the preserve of any community. The MP has also declared his interest in becoming Kisii governor, saying he only wants to be the county chief for one term. Nyamweya will be contesting against the incumbent Governor James Ongwae on the Kenya National Congress ticket. The legislator addressed mourners at Maroo in the constituency. “I am telling those who want to run for the parliamentary seat they are welcome,”the MP said. Nyamweya said he will not endorse a candidate for the seat. Those interested should persuade the people, the MP added. Nyamweya urged those seeking elective seats to engage in peaceful campaigns.
