Starehe woman de­nies stab­bing ‘hus­band snatcher’

A woman was yes­ter­day charged with as­sault­ing a bar­maid and claim­ing she stole her hus­band.

Judy Ndila al­legedly stabbed Vaati Nzangi, 22, on Septem­ber 6 in Starehe. Ndila ac­cused Nzangi of be­ing in an in­ti­mate re­la­tion­ship with her hus­band and that she buys him drinks to win him over.

Dur­ing the ar­gu­ment, Ndila al­legedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her. Ndila is later said to have clob­bered her with a rungu, in­jur­ing her eye. Nzangi also sus­tained deep cuts on the head and shouted for help. Neigb­hours alerted po­lice on pa­trol who res­cued Nzangi and took her to hos­pi­tal.

Ndila de­nied the charges be­fore prin­ci­pal mag­is­trate Eve­line Ol­wande and was re­leased on Sh20,000 bail.

The case will be men­tioned on Septem­ber 28.
