The national Federation of Public Benefits Organisations is collecting the views of the more than 10,000 PBOs on the implementation of new industry regulations. “The board invites all sector partners to pool resources to help meet the challenges of implementing the Act [PBO Act 2013] to attain compliance within the sector,” chairman Stephen Cheboi said. He said awareness and participation of all stakeholders will help in the transition from the NGO Council of Kenya to the federation, which was proposed by the new law. Cheboi said the federation will call regional forums to ensure participation. “The NGO Council wishes to invite and encourage the entire PBO sector in Kenya to engage with relevant institutions both at national and county levels,” he said. “Self-regulation means direct involvement of every registered PBO in Kenya in the activities of the national federation.”
