More than 2,000 peo­ple in Kenya, mainly from poor fam­i­lies, die from rabies ev­ery year yet the disease is pre­ventable, the Kenya Vet­eri­nary As­so­ci­a­tion chair­man Sa­muel Ka­hariri has said. “Rabies deaths are pre­ventable,” he said. Glob­ally, more than 60,000 die an­nu­ally with 95 per cent of them in Africa and Asia.
