MUTURI BLAMES TREASURY AND SRC
Muturi has accused the National Treasury and SRC of stalling recruitment of the IEBC bosses, with just four days to the deadline set by the parliamentary committee to have commissioners in office. But SRC says it is the Treasury which has not tabled a proposal on a send-off package for eight IEBC commissioners and their chairman, Issack Hassan, who agreed to vacate office. The situation is compounded by the fact that the Elections Amendment Bill, 2016 will come into effect on October 4. President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the bill on September 20.
