Tablets for all pub­lic schools by June – PS

All pub­lic schools will re­ceive tablets by June next year, ICT Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary Sammy Ite­mere has said. In the pi­lot project, 11,500 pupils from 150 schools re­ceived tablets, lap­tops and pro­jec­tors. Ite­mere said the gov­ern­ment has re­ceived 100,000 lap­tops out of 1.2 mil­lion to be dis­trib­uted.

He spoke at Sig­i­non Global Lo­gis­tics, Mom­basa. The tablets are be­ing man­u­fac­tured in China in part­ner­ship with Por­tu­gal and Brazil, Ite­mere said. They will cost Sh28 bil­lion.
