KenGen efforts will result in reliable and cheap electricity
Kenya’s energy sector is headed for a revolutionary change and cheaper power following efforts by KenGen to inject more power into the national grid. The company plans to increase wind and geothermal power production after the successful execution of Olkaria IV and V, which will add 280MW into the grid. KenGen is embracing innovation to commercialise new ideas and is using them to help the country produce more power. The project is timely, considering efforts by the government to connect schools, hospitals, markets and homes to power.
