Handicap 19 Joseph Mwenda proves best during the Kengen Golf Day at Vet Lab Sports Club
BY SAMSON ATEKA/ Joseph Mwenda playing off handicap 19 fired 41 stableford points to clinch the Kengen Golf Day tournament at Vet Lab.
Mwenda shot 18 points in the first nine and 23 in the second to achieve the best score in an event with attracted over 200 golfers. The Men’s winner was handicap 3 Jack Mwangi on 41 after losing to Mwenda on countback. Mwangi carded 22 points in the front nine and 19 in the back nine. Mavji Gorasia playing off 15 shot scores of 31 and 19 for 40 points.
Catherine Gachie playing off handicap 24 was the lady winner with 40 points. The Ladies Runner-up was handicap 12 Jane Karuku with 35 points. Guest Winner honours went to handicap 25 Willy Mastamet om 40 points. Guest Runner-up was D.K. Langat (H/c 28) on a total of 38.
Daniel Tanui (H/c 12) emerged the staff winner with 33 points. Staff runner-up was Reuben Langat on 31 points.
Staff Third place went to Felix Kirui (H/c 28) 31 points. Senior winner’s honours went to Rohit Shah (H/c 25) on 34 points.
First Nine winner with a score of 22 was Tom Chirchir playing off 17. The 2nd Nine winner was Mark Karobia (H/c 14) with 21 pts. Longest drive men’s honours went to Eng. Sammy Gathuri while the ladies’ prize went to Esther Chumo.
