Hand­i­cap 19 Joseph Mwenda proves best dur­ing the Ken­gen Golf Day at Vet Lab Sports Club

BY SAM­SON ATEKA/ Joseph Mwenda play­ing off hand­i­cap 19 fired 41 sta­ble­ford points to clinch the Ken­gen Golf Day tour­na­ment at Vet Lab.

Mwenda shot 18 points in the first nine and 23 in the sec­ond to achieve the best score in an event with at­tracted over 200 golfers. The Men’s win­ner was hand­i­cap 3 Jack Mwangi on 41 af­ter los­ing to Mwenda on count­back. Mwangi carded 22 points in the front nine and 19 in the back nine. Mavji Go­ra­sia play­ing off 15 shot scores of 31 and 19 for 40 points.

Cather­ine Gachie play­ing off hand­i­cap 24 was the lady win­ner with 40 points. The Ladies Run­ner-up was hand­i­cap 12 Jane Karuku with 35 points. Guest Win­ner hon­ours went to hand­i­cap 25 Willy Mas­tamet om 40 points. Guest Run­ner-up was D.K. Lan­gat (H/c 28) on a to­tal of 38.

Daniel Tanui (H/c 12) emerged the staff win­ner with 33 points. Staff run­ner-up was Reuben Lan­gat on 31 points.

Staff Third place went to Felix Kirui (H/c 28) 31 points. Se­nior win­ner’s hon­ours went to Ro­hit Shah (H/c 25) on 34 points.

First Nine win­ner with a score of 22 was Tom Chirchir play­ing off 17. The 2nd Nine win­ner was Mark Karo­bia (H/c 14) with 21 pts. Long­est drive men’s hon­ours went to Eng. Sammy Gathuri while the ladies’ prize went to Es­ther Chumo.
