The Pres­i­dent has is­sued a stern warn­ing against of­fi­cers frus­trat­ing the en­force­ment and swift im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Ac­cess to Gov­ern­ment Pro­cure­ment Op­por­tu­ni­ties law. The law led to amend­ment of the pro­cure­ment rules, al­low­ing 30 per cent of con­tracts be awarded to the youth and per­sons liv­ing with dis­abil­ity. See page 9

MAR­GARET KOBIA JSC most tribal com­mis­sion

The Ju­di­cial Ser­vice Com­mis­sion is the only com­mis­sion that does not meet eth­nic bal­ance in its work­force. This is ac­cord­ing to the Na­tional Co­he­sion and In­te­gre­tion Com­mis­sion. The NCIC said JSC vi­o­lates Sec­tion 7(2) of the NCI Act by hir­ing 39.1 per cent of its work­force from the Kikuyu com­mu­nity, gainst the re­quired in­dex of 33.3 per cent. See page 6
