Rob­bers break into Kisumu Huduma Cen­tre of­fices

Po­lice in Kisumu are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a rob­bery in two Huduma Cen­tre of­fices manned by Ad­min­is­tra­tion Po­lice of­fi­cers. The build­ing houses the county gov­ern­ment of­fices, in­clud­ing Gov­er­nor Jack Ranguma’s, and the county com­mis­sioner’s of­fice. A lap­top and a voice recorder were stolen from the In­for­ma­tion min­istry of­fices. Two new CPUs, two lap­tops and Sh36,000 were stolen at the Im­mi­gra­tion of­fices. The rob­bers are be­lieved to have bro­ken the main pad­locks. County com­mis­sioner Mo­hamed Maalim ques­tioned how the items were stolen, while the build­ing was be­ing manned by of­fi­cers on night duty. A non­com­mis­sioned of­fi­cer su­per­vised them. “More ques­tions re­main unan­swered be­cause we are still won­der­ing how the thieves man­aged to get away with the items,” he said.
