Colourful celebrations mark Navratri Festival

The Star (Kenya) - - Sasa - BY MOSES MALINDI

The Navaratri Festival is usually marked with great devotion and fervor by members of the Hindu community all over the world. This year, devotees flocked temples across Kenya to mark the celebrations with song dance and vibrancy.

The temples in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Kitale and Eldoret were well decorated and there were live performances by musicians from India who kept the guests on their feet until the crack of dawn.

Between the garba sessions were tea breaks to allow the devotees to take a breather and re-energise before another round of dancing.
