(+) CS MATIANG’I MEASURES TO CURB CHEATING
Education CS Fred Matiang’i announced tough rules in June to curb cheating. Among them was the shortening of the period for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams from six weeks to four. Head teachers were directly put in charge of the exam in their schools. National tests are controlled by supervisors hired by the examinations council from within the teaching fraternity. The third term will last nine weeks , not12. It started on August 29 and will end on October 28.
