(+) CS MATIANG’I MEA­SURES TO CURB CHEAT­ING

Ed­u­ca­tion CS Fred Matiang’i an­nounced tough rules in June to curb cheat­ing. Among them was the short­en­ing of the pe­riod for Kenya Cer­tifi­cate of Se­condary Ed­u­ca­tion ex­ams from six weeks to four. Head teach­ers were di­rectly put in charge of the exam in their schools. Na­tional tests are con­trolled by su­per­vi­sors hired by the ex­am­i­na­tions coun­cil from within the teach­ing fra­ter­nity. The third term will last nine weeks , not12. It started on Au­gust 29 and will end on Oc­to­ber 28.
