Classes started at the newly-formed Tom Mboya University College yesterday.

The Homa Bay college has enrolled 263 students, 193 of whom are government sponsored. The institution will remain a constituent college of Maseno University.

Charles Ochola was appointed the principal. He previously worked at Maseno University as an associate professor of demography. “We are proud we have enrolled students to be pioneers. We look forward to working hard to ensure the institution rises to the greatest heights,” he said.

“Maseno University and the county government will continue to support the university until it can fully stand on its own.”

Ocholla urged parents to enroll their children at the college.
