Ex-MP, husband lose bid to be released on bond
An Eldoret court yesterday declined to release former Eldoret South MP Peris Simam and her husband Enock Kimeli (both pictured) on bond, pending an appeal against an 18-year jail sentence for graft. On Friday, the two were ordered to pay Sh10.6 million fines or serve the jail term . On Friday Simam, her husband and the four others were found guilty of 10 counts of corruption committed when Simam was MP between 20072013. It involved irregular tender award to Simam’s company.
