TERROR SUSPECT DETAINED
A Nairobi court yesterday detained a terror suspect linked to ISIS for three days to enable police to complete investigations.
Milimani principal magistrate Peter Mugure allowed police to continue holding Allin Abdigan, a doctor attached to the Malindi General Hospital. He is suspected to be part of a terror gang that plans attacks using anthrax.
The prosecution informed the court Abdigan is involved in several terror activities and police need more time to complete investigations.
The court heard the suspect was arrested on October 7 in the Malindi Subcounty Hospital, before he was flown to Nairobi. Abdigan was moved to the Anti- Terrorism Police Unit.
Police are analysing his mobile phone data and other crucial materials, before pressing charges against him.
It is also alleged the suspect had been on the run since August, when two interns at the hospital were arrested over alleged links to a terrorist group. The matter will be mentioned on October 13 for further directions.
