VIOLENCE OVER WATER, PASTURE
The violence between herders from Garissa and Isiolo last month left 10 dead and property worth millions of shillings destroyed on the border of the two counties. “The herders from Garissa should have restrained themselves because they were seeking help. I thank God the problem was resolved and peace restored,” Hamey said. The conflict was sparked by cattle rustling and competition for water and pasture.
