68 per cent of Kenyans don’t have health in­sur­ance

Sixty-eight per cent of Kenyans do not have a health in­sur­ance cover. Some can­not af­ford it, oth­ers are ig­no­rant about ser­vice providers, while another group thinks it is un­nec­es­sary, a report by NGO Sauti Za Wananchi says. Pro­gramme of­fi­cer Vic­tor Rateng’ said 88 per cent of peo­ple de­pend on NHIF.
