Kaga Ban­doro/ Fight­ers from Cen­tral African Repub­lic’s largely Mus­lim Seleka mili­tia at­tacked refugees in the coun­try’s re­mote north on Wed­nes­day. They stabbed and hacked to death 13 peo­ple be­fore UN peace­keep­ers re­pelled them, killing at least 10. Bu­jum­bura/ Bu­rundi’s Par­lia­ment voted over­whelm­ingly on Wed­nes­dayto with­draw from the In­ter­na­tional Crim­i­nal Court, amid a deep­en­ing row over po­lit­i­cal vi­o­lence. These were the heav­i­est losses suf­fered by gov­ern­ment forces dur­ing months of fierce clashes near the cap­i­tal of south­ern Hel­mand prov­ince.
