Nabonwe said Mohamed’s assertion that he heard something hit his rifle was refuted by colleagues present at the scene. He said Mohamed later escaped and his G3 rifle loaded with 20 bullets was recovered at his home. “Mohamed showed up at the DCI Malindi offices accompanied by his lawyer,” he said. Nabonwe said Mohamed presented himself to the police following pressure from the public.
