Embu Governor Martin Wambora and former PS Cyrus Njiru have agreed to conduct peaceful campaigns. Njiru will try to unseat the governor in 2017. The two agreed to respect each other even though they are political rivals. They promised to hunt for votes based on matters affecting residents and avoid insults. The PS said he will not issue personal attacks to avoid violence. The PS said he will give Wambora the remaining period to finish his term without undue political interference. Njiru said he will allow the county boss to implement his pre-election pledges. He urged other aspirants to give Wambora a chance to complete his term to avoid disruptions. The two spoke at the Embu ACK during a funds drive to build a hospital. Bishop David Muriithi urged politicians to preach peace and unity in rallies.
