SECTOR CAN UNLOCK INDUSTRIAL GROWTH IN KENYA

The Star (Kenya) - - Politics General -

Last year, Principal Secretary in the department of Science and Technology Collette Suda said negative perceptions about Technical Vocational Education and Training Institutions are to blame for youth unemployment and slow economic development. She said though TVET institutions are key to economic transformation, the enrollment of students has been poor because “there is a perception that one only goes there if they fail to make it to other institutions of higher learning”. Suda said some students placed by KUCCPS do not even report. She said if embraced well, the sector can unlock industrialisation in Kenya.
