Top in­sti­tute fetes Unilever as best em­ployer in Kenya

CYN­THIA ILAKO/ Unilever, the multi­na­tional con­sumer goods maker, has for the fourth year in a row been ranked the lead­ing em­ployer in Kenya by Top Em­ployer In­sti­tute, an international cer­ti­fi­ca­tion or­gan­i­sa­tion. “This is an af­fir­ma­tion of Unilever’s com­mit­ment to the peo­ple and tal­ent agenda through global best prac­tice that strongly res­onates across its mar­kets in­clud­ing right here in Kenya,” Unilever CEO for East Africa Justin Apsey said. The in­sti­tute also ranked Unilever as the best em­ployer in Africa for the third year run­ning, a sta­tus so­lid­i­fied by its first-time cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in Zim­babwe, and its top rank in Ghana and Nige­ria. Top Em­ployer In­sti­tute re­gional di­rec­tor Africa Saman­tha Crous said Unilever was part of a se­lect group of em­ploy­ers that ad­vanced em­ployee con­di­tions world­wide this year.
