Munya urged to address striking nurses

The Star (Kenya) - - Counties -

Leaders from Meru county have urged Meru Governor Peter Munya to address the striking nurses. Residents are dying and others seek medical services in Isiolo and Tharaka Nithi. Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi said it is shameful to have Meru residents lack medical services when a lot of money is spent on dubious projects. He spoke at a public rally in North Imenti constituency. “We want to ask Munya why he is not paying doctors yet the national government has released funds to cater for the Health department,” Linturi said. He said hospitals lack basic commodities like medicine and staff. Linturi said expectant women seeking maternity services are forced to buy basic medicine.
